If you’re looking for an excuse to relax, here is a good one: high levels of the stress hormone cortisol can lead to increased abdominal fat storage. It may take some intention to make time for rest and relaxation, but your health and your waist will thank you for it. Just be sure to let go of any guilt you may have about taking “me time,” or you may be undermining the stress-relieving effects you’re trying to achieve.
