#6. Bolivarian Revolution 2007
The revolution was political movement in Venezuela which led Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez. The
“Bolivarian Revolution” is named after Simón Bolívar who was 19th-century Venezuelan and Latin
American revolutionary leader. The Bolivarian Revolution aimed for democracy, economic independence,
equitable distribution of revenues, and an end to corruption in Venezuela. As a result of populist policies
initiated by the Bolivarian government. The economy of Venezuela has rapidly deteriorated, leading to
hyperinflation, shortages of food and medicine and a rising crime rate.
