Open your mouth and look at your tongue. That may sound strange, but your tongue can tell a lot about your health. Tongue diagnosis is observing the tongue size, shape, contour, surface, margins and color to assess the present health. A healthy tongue should be pink and covered with small nodules.
#1. Tongue has a white coating or white spots
A white tongue, or white spots on your tongue, could be an indication of oral thrush, leukoplakia, oral lichen planus. Oral thrush is most commonly seen in infants and the elderly, especially denture wearers, or in people with weakened immune systems. Leukoplakia can develop when the tongue has been irritated. Oral lichen planus a network of raised white lines on your tongue that look similar to lace.
