One of the most influential singers in the world John Lennon was the leader and founding member of the Beatles. Whether as a singer, composer, musician, writer, John was a true original, he was a great artist. He was ambassador of peace, love, and happiness, and yet he was regularly assaulted by the press on wrong pretexts. Let’s take a look at a few facts you might not have known about him.
#1. John Lennon never knew his real father
John was born during World War II and never knew his real father. When his father for namesake, Alfred Lennon returned from war, his wife was pregnant with another man’s child. So, when Lennon was born, he was sent away to live with his maternal aunt, Mimi Smith, who was always dismissive about Lennon’s interest in music. When he was 17 and visiting his mother, she died in a car crash and so he never got the chance to establish good relations with her, or learn about his father.
